Biodegradable Plastics, continued

So, scientists have come up with ways to produce biodegradable plastics, using plant-based materials. These new plastics look and feel like normal plastic, but they break down in water, just like plants do.

You can help reduce landfill by choosing to buy products and packaging made from biodegradable plastics, if possible. Remember, though, the best option is to reuse and recycle your plastic, and not let it go to landfill at all!
