Where does waste go?We place our home waste into a recycling container or rubbish bin to be picked up. The material in the recycling container is taken to a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) where it is sorted and transported to recycling plants. The rubbish is driven to a landfill where it is buried. If waste is not placed into the rubbish bin or recycling container and thrown away, it becomes litter and usually ends up on our streets and beaches and in our parks and waterways.
