Energy and Waste

Did you know that reducing, reusing and recycling your waste can save energy too?

Energy is used to make almost everything we buy and use. So if you reuse something or buy products with less packaging, then you are actually saving energy as well as reducing waste. Recycling also saves energy – since making a product from recycled materials often uses less energy than making the same product with raw materials.

Waste can sometimes be turned into energy too! In some places, waste materials are burnt in huge furnaces to create heat and generate electricity.
